BEAVERCREEK HERITAGE DAYS AND HERB DAYS ![]() Beavercreek Heritage Days and Herb Days are for the entire family, adults and children alike at Wartinger Historical Park, 3080 Kemp Road in Beavercreek. Admittance to the park is free, and there is free parking at the Board of Education parking lot. The handicapped entrance is next to the 1858 Tobias...Zimmer Barn. There are two restrooms located behind the fire station and near the Harshman House. Especially
for the children are activities which cost $2.00 for all activities.
Planned for 2008 are make a rag doll, talk to a
woodcarver, make a top, visit the seedsavers, use a
washboard, pet small animals, shell corn, make paper, do a bean
bag toss, tie a quilt, visit the beekeeper, and talk with the
woodworker. The Penny Candy store will be open this year. Horses,
Hank and Hobby will take you for a ride on their wagon. The
cost is $2.00 with kids under 2 free when they ride with an adult. Heritage
Days 2007 offered pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, slaw,
Sarsaparilla and Birch Beer. A specialty of Heritage Days and
Herb Days are the pies and cookies.
There are local artisans, too. Planned for 2008 are beekeeper, basket maker, chair caning, wood carvers, handcrafted toy bears, painting and pen and ink drawings, sorghum taffy, tatting, things made out of walnuts,and rug hooking. The Flower Trail Garden Club makes their herbs into wreaths, garlands, topiaries and other herbal creations at their annual herb sale. Also, available at the herb sale in the 1811 Nicodemus House were baked goods, dried herbs, seasonal decorations, pressed flower items, potpourri, vinegar, and small notepads. This is the Flower Trail annual fundraiser, and the Flower Trail Garden Club offers free tours of their herb gardens at Herb Days, too. Heritage Days also offers tours of 4 log houses and barn. They are the 1803 Harshman House, the 1805 Jarusiewic Cabin (replica), the 1811 Nicodemus House, the 1828 Ankeney House, and the 1858 Tobias...Zimmer Barn. The Beavercreek Historical Society sponsors Heritage Days, and the Flower Trail Garden Club sponsors Herb Days. ![]()
